Recently I attended an event that left me with memories to last a lifetime. Memories of unique, delicious food, wonderful people, and new experiences. I would rate Bee Delightful’s Beenefit Event as one of the top three food events I’ve ever attended.
Thank you to Bee Delightful for sponsoring my attendance at this event.
When I first heard about the event I didn’t have any previous knowledge about the Bee Delightful company. I didn’t know that they were a local CBD-oil infused honey company, nor did I know just how awesomely passionate these guys are about their business. Bee Delightful gets 100% of their honey sourced co-op farmers practicing organic, treatment-free beekeeping in Austin, TX. The team rescues local honey bee hives and transports them to their sanctuary in Liberty Hill, TX. With that honey they create their special Rescue Blend™ of Canna Bees™ – a hemp infused honey.
CBD or cannibinoid is a compound from the Cannabis plant just like marijuana and hemp. Unlike marijuana, CBD is legal in most states, including Texas. While marijuana contains both CBD and THC compounds, CBD doesn’t produce the standard “high” typically found in marijuana and is not considered psychoactive. That isn’t to say CBD oil doesn’t have it’s own beneficial effects when consumed. Effects that can include natural pain relief, reducing anxiety, working as an antioxidant, and working as an antidepressant.
The Canna Bees™ honey can be bought locally in Austin at Thom’s Market or Lazy Daze. Currently they sell three varieties – the wildflower honey was my personal favorite. Go give this honey a try, guys!
The Beenefit Event promised a night filled with CBD-oil infused foods – all of which were quite tasty. My favorite foods of the night were the play on bang bang shrimp and these amazing Bee Delightful honey-infused raspberry yogurt popsicles. I could eat about 10 of those popsicles!
Chefs Preston Day and Tiffani Janelle and their teams were working hard all night to crank out bite after bite of foods for guests. In between plates my friends and I interacted with other guests, – all of whom were very nice and welcoming – tried some homemade kombucha and watched a wood artist at work.
Another event we partook in was a tea ceremony. I LOVE tea, hot and cold, and drink it almost every day so when I spotted this elaborate and interesting tea ceremony going on I jumped at the chance to learn more. My typical hot tea consumption generally includes putting a tea bag into a mug, warming up some water, pouring the water over the tea and just drinking the tea with the bag still in the mug when it’s ready. It fascinates me that in other countries like China tea-drinking is turned into more of an event – a time to slow down, relax, and really savor the tea itself. Justine was our server and teacher of this tea ceremony – she was such a sweet soul!
Throughout the night my friends and I got many behind the scenes looks in the kitchen where the magic was being made. The workers in the kitchen – including Chefs Preston and Tiffani were wonderful to talk to and answered all of our questions. I can’t thank them enough for giving me the opportunity to attend this event and learn more about Bee Delightful and their Canna Bees honey.
