Hello friends! As you might recall, my blog received a huge facelift a couple of weeks ago. This beautiful, newly redesigned space is all thanks to my friend, Amanda, from Amanda Loves Blogging Designs. I’m telling you guys if you ever need a blog header created, blog makeover, or help with organizing your recipe page, Amanda is your girl. She went above and beyond on this special space on the web that I call my own. I wanted to fill you guys in on the deets of what Amanda did thanks to help of her design services.
The most important aspect of my blog that needed some help was the theme. Ever since I switched over from hosting my blog for free on Weebly to buying my own domain and moving to Bluehost, I’ve had some issues with figuring out how to make the cheaper theme I had purchased work for me. Amanda suggested the Foodie theme to give my blog a cleaner, more professional look. She installed the theme when I gave her access to my blog and she even gave me some pointers on a couple plugins I had installed and how to make better use of them.
But before the theme was even installed, Amanda worked on my favorite part of my newest blog space: my header design. Amanda created a few examples of what my header could look like based on my input and ideas for the font and colors. After a few back-and-forth emails on the header (it was hard for me to choose just one, there were a few I loved!) I had chosen my new, lovely header you see up there on the top of my blog today.
After the theme install and header design, Amanda wanted to organize my recipes for me so they could be more easily searched for from my blog based on their categories. Before, I just had a list of recipes broken up into different categories on one long page and it was not eye-catching. Now, look at this beauty!
Amanda was right, getting a new blog design feels like a fresh, new haircut or a new wardrobe. This new blog space of mine is something I can be proud of. My content was already great, she just helped me display it in a better way so I can share it with the world.
