An honest review of the Dearest Whiskers homemade cat toys and goodies subscription box.
Full disclosure: I was provided a free Dearest Whiskers box for review. All opinions are my own.
Last week I talked about my neverending love for all the popcorn. But do you know what else has my heart? Even more than popcorn?
I’m more of a cat person. And before you get up in arms and judge me, dog-lovers, I like dogs too! I just prefer a cat as a pet. Cats are loving enough to give you cuddles and purrs but independent enough to leave you alone and go about their own life. My kind of relationship right there.
I left my two dearest cats back in Arkansas with my mother because Wade and I were moving into our own apartment together for the first time in Austin this past June. It was heartbreaking! I miss those two kitties. Their names are Patch and Aries.
So when the Dearest Whiskers company reached out to me to see if I wanted to review their cat toy and treat subscription box, I had to come up with another plan if I was going to give a valid, interesting review.
I don’t have a cat at my apartment currently (hoping to foster or adopt one in the near future! Just need to convince the fiance…) but I do have a stuffed Pusheen that I got for Christmas! He’s become my temporary cat in place of when I get a real one.
Oh, and I am donating half of the treats from this subscription box to the local animal shelter and sending a couple of treats back to Aries and Patch. And guess what?! I’m also giving away one January Dearest Whiskers box to one lucky reader, too! Keep reading my review to find out how to enter.
Subscription boxes have become popular lately. You can sign up to get anything from retro candy, posh jewelry, craft beers, or socks delivered to your door on a regular basis. I think the most appealing aspect behind the subscription boxes is the element of surprise. Most of the time, you don’t know what you’re getting until you open the package that’s been delivered to your door.
But what if you wanted a subscription box to tailor to one of your best friends? Pets bring us so much joy in life. Studies even show that owning a dog or a cat can lead to a longer, healthier life for the owner. Why not give our special pet a thank-you treat in return?
If you ADORE your cat(s) as much as I do or know someone who does, Dearest Whiskers is the purr-fect idea. Pun intended. Couldn’t help it.
When I opened up my Dearest Whiskers box, the packaging was perfectly tidy. It came with a little printed card with a description of everything that was in the box.
And here they are! New cat toys and treats to appeal to even the pickiest of kitties.
A couple of my favorites were the strawberry from Cherry Willow and the Popsicle from Sinfully Sweet Designs. Both had the faint aroma of catnip, which I’m sure was stuffed inside each toy.
This little felted kiwi fruit was adorable! Made by Kawaii Cat Toys.
The other two toys were a cat ball that had a jingle bell inside from Jennie’s Pet Corner and a kitty garden from Pioneer Pet. I know my cat, Patch would LOVE the kitty garden! He tries to eat grass whenever he can get to it.
I think one of the best things about this particular subscription box is knowing these are handmade cat toys. Dearest Whiskers is supporting smaller businesses and organic treats through their own business model.
The tagline for Dearest Whiskers read “A monthly gift of artisan delights for the dearest of whiskers in your life. Handmade toys, organic catnip, small-batch treats. All expertly selected to incite purrs and joy.” As a reviewer, I agree. Dearest Whiskers succeeded in making me a happy customer. And I cannot wait to give a couple of toys to the local animal shelter so I know that many cats will be able to enjoy them!
Thank you for allowing me to review your product, Dearest Whiskers!
Now for the giveaway.
