For that nature lover in your life this gift guide will get you started with your holiday shopping.
‘Tis the season! I’m taking a break from talking about food and talking about one of my other biggest passions: Mother Nature herself. Confession: I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping yet. I find shopping for gifts for family and friends more difficult as the years go on. I think it’s because I want less useless stuff in my life that is just taking up space and not being used – and I’m sure my friends and family feel the same.
Because of that I’m only including useful things on this gift guide. Things that I have personally used many times over again and will continue to do so. Generally the folks who are big into nature want less “stuff” in their lives anyways – they value experiences. It may not be true for all nature loving granola folks but I’m sure it is true for many.
This gift guide is made for those granola, tree-hugging friends and family of yours that prefer to spend their time outside. And stay tuned for a special giveaway at the end!
A water bottle is definitely an essential. For hiking, camping, or just walking within your neighborhood. I’m one of those people who’s always thirsty and can’t go anywhere without a bottle of water. A great gift for an outdoorsman is a sturdy, reliable bottle like this Hydro Flask stainless steel water. I bought mine a few months ago and am in love.
They do call them “granola” people for a reason. If they’re going out on a long adventure they’ll need some fuel. Granola is a nutritious and portable option. Why not try making homemade granola? I don’t have any recipes on my blog, but I do have these honey lavender cashew granola bars you could give a try. If you’re going to go with store-bought try to look for granola with less sugar and more protein and healthy fats.
Those feet have to be comfortable for spending some quality time out in Mother Nature. I actually prefer sandals to tennis shoes when hiking because my feet sweat easily. Heavy duty sandals, mind you. Not flip-flops. Something like these, these, or these. I own the Skechers shown below and they are, by far, the sandal I wear most often.
JORD Wood Watch.
A watch is extremely functional in everyday life. For the outdoorsman a watch is key for keeping track of the time – especially if you want to go without a phone to take a break from technology or your phone runs out of battery. JORD wood watches have some unique women’s and men’s watches. They do an amazing job at keeping the natural look to their timepieces with real wood and handmade craftsmanship.
The JORD wood watch I currently own is the Frankie Series Dark Sandalwood and Emerald. I took my watch on it’s first hike out to Pedernales Falls State Park for Wade and I’s anniversary weekend. These beautiful JORD wood watches are perfect for the nature lover in your life.
JORD is hosting a GIVEAWAY for the holidays! To enter to win a $75 e-gift code to use towards a JORD watch please enter the JORD wood watches giveaway here. Plus, every entrant will instantly be emailed a $25 e-gift coupon code! Good luck!
