Hello all! Did you have a great Valentine’s Day/Galentine’s Day weekend? I hope so. Wade and I did something a little quirky this year for our Valentine’s date…
We ate dinner at Waffle House.
Now if you are one of those poor souls who do not know what Waffle House is and/or you haven’t tried it at least once, please kindly put it on your bucket list to do so. At least once! Waffle House holds a lot of memories for Wade, especially, because it was a regular eating destination for him when he was a child and used to spend his Summers in Florida with his grandparents.
Waffle House is probably most commonly known for their late-night college kid customers who frequent the diner-esque restaurant for their cheap, fast, easy breakfast meals to soak up some of the alcohol left over from partying all night.
They go all out for Waffle House Valentine’s Day. White table cloths, plastic champagne glasses, candles, red lighting. It’s super cheesy cute rolled into one. It’s a cheap, fun date idea for Valentine’s Day and I do recommend you try it at least once! Even if you’re just going with some friends. Their waffles are pretty kickass, too.
Moving on to wedding planning updates. I realized I hadn’t done any update of our upcoming wedding in a while and I thought I’d keep you all in the loop. Since our wedding isn’t until May 13, 2017 we still have plenty of time to get things in order but there have been two major things checked off our to-do lists.
- We found our venue!
I can’t book the venue until May 1st this year, but I have been assured by the owner that I will have first pick of dates once May 1st roles around. Here is a preview of the location. Some of these photos are from other weddings. My nonnegotiable is that I HAVE to get married outside and this location has a beautiful, simple setting just for that. Eeeeee!
2. The bridesmaid dress colors have been picked out.
I wanted my bridesmaid ladies to be able to pick out their own dresses that fit their bodies the best and made them feel beautiful with just some slight guidance from me. Therefore I am only telling them to buy dresses that are shorter and either a mint green or a champagne/cream color. Two girls will wear green and two girls will wear cream.
These dresses are an idea of what I have in mind:
There you have it. A few updates on the love life department. All is going swimmingly. I’ll leave you with one of my favorite love quotes:
Linking up with Katie for Marvelous Monday and Amanda for Thinking out Loud
What is the quirkiest, weirdest date you have ever been on?
Do you like Waffle House? Have you ever tried it?
